Cardinal Health is a distributor of pharmaceuticals, a global manufacturer and distributor of medical and laboratory products, and a provider of performance and data solutions for healthcare facilities.
Rafael Hourula oversees logistics at Plasmidsaurus, a DNA Sequencing company. They are a start-up in the Biotech space that has been in operation for almost 3 years. Their core business is sequencing plasmids, which are DNA molecules found in bacteria. They are non-toxic and non-hazardous, and Plasmidsaurus utilizes regular shipping methods to get these samples to our labs.
Rafael has worked in various medical labs throughout his career, and started out as a lab technician for Plasmidsaurus in the San Francisco Bay Area. One of their first courier partnerships was with King Courier in San Francisco. Since then, they have partnered with many CLDA couriers and look to continue to do so!

Prior to spearheading e-Courier's success, he built an impressive track record of driving technological innovation and market expansion through executive positions at AirFind, iconectiv, and Sprint. His strategic approach to business growth is grounded in a Master's degree in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University, where he developed the technical foundation that continues to inform his leadership today.
Michael Kraus is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Expak Logistics, a national provider of B2B pool distribution and warehousing and fulfillment services. Expak Logistics provides supply chain services to a broad selection of Fortune 1000 clients across a broad range of industries, including pharmaceutical, retail, auto parts, financial services, government and consumer products.
Kraus began his career with the New York based private equity firm, Chancery Lane Capital, and Chancery’s principal investment vehicle, Big Flower Holdings. Following the sale of Big Flower in 1999, Kraus was a chief architect of Chancery’s PIPE Investment in Moore Corporation in 2000. He helped engineer the sale of Moore’s successor, Moore Wallace, to RR Donnelley & Sons Company, creating an approximately $11 billion global printing and business services company. At RR Donnelley, Kraus had responsibility for strategic transactions with particular focus on the company’s Logistics, European and Asian operations.
Subsequently, Kraus became the Managing Member of Krest Capital, a Los Angeles-based private investment and advisory firm, and a Principal with OpenGate Capital, a global private investment firm. While in these roles, Kraus completed numerous investments and operational turnarounds across a variety of industries, including paper, packaging, food and beverage and supply chain operations. Kraus holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Bucknell University.
Andrew Brady is the Co-Owner and COO at King Courier, a full-service courier company serving the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Since 1992, he has run operations and been involved in sales for the company.
Starting out as a bike messenger in Boston, MA, Brady moved to San Francisco in 1990 and continued working in the field, first as a bike messenger at Silver Bullet and then at Executive Courier Network (ECN). At ECN, he progressed rapidly through a variety of positions in dispatch and operations before ECN laid off the entire bicycle messenger division. He and 5 other messengers used this opportunity to start their own company, King Courier. King Courier was featured on the BBC America television show "Richard Hammond's Crash Course".
From July 2004 to June 2012, Brady also owned and operated Bay Area Dispatch and Solutions Systems, a transportation brokerage firm in the Bay Area focused on enabling independent couriers to simultaneously contract with multiple local courier firms without jeopardizing quality of service.
Brady has previously served as President of the California Delivery Association (CDA), the statewide association of expedited delivery companies in California, from February 2006 to July 2011, and again from 2019 to 2022. He has been a proud CLDA member since 2000 and has been actively involved in serving the association, most recently in the Final Mile Forum Committee.
