About Me

Gregory Feary is president and a managing partner of the Scopelitis Law Firm. He focuses on laws regarding transportation and related industries, including independent contractor issues, legislation, insurance, corporate structure designs, and contract matters. He also serves as a primary contact for mergers and acquisitions due diligence work and advises on corporate structure and risk mitigation issues. He has created and counseled many captive insurance companies. Feary is a national thought leader in transportation and is involved with many industry organizations.

About Me

Steven Pletcher serves as principal advisor for the Firm’s employment taxation, employee benefits, and alternative workforce strategies practice areas. Pletcher counsels employers, motor carriers, non-motor carriers, and professional employer organizations on a multitude of issues. He is a frequent speaker at conferences sponsored by the American Trucking Associations (ATA), state trucking associations, NAFC, CLDA, and NAPEO. Pletcher has authored numerous articles on state and federal employment taxation and trucking, per diem expense reimbursement plans, driver leasing and the professional employer organizations industry.

About Me

Braden Core represents motor carriers, forwarders, and logistics companies in regulatory compliance, contract reviews, and owner-operator arrangements. He also defends businesses in a large variety of enforcement cases, including TSA air-cargo and cargo-screening investigations and FAA dangerous-goods investigations. Braden also regularly counsels and speaks on owner-operator arrangements, challenges to independent-contractor classification, and compliance with the Federal Leasing Regulations. Finally, Braden is an experienced litigator who has tried several commercial cases, including multiple jury trials, and participated in the defense of class actions against motor carriers involving allegations of Federal Leasing Regulations violations and challenges to independent-contractor status.
