Peter Schlactus has advised U.S. delivery company owners and executives for over 30 years on risk management, insurance, and loss control matters. He has been instrumental in developing many of the strategies and specialized coverages used by the industry today. Peter co-founded the not-for-profit Association For Delivery Drivers, which provides low-cost solutions for driver recruiting and vetting, insurance, gear, training, and more, and serves as its Executive Director.
Peter was Co-President of KBS International Corp, a Managing Director of Brightstone Insurance Services and a Managing Director of Risk Strategies Company. He earned his AB degree with honors from Harvard University and holds several certifications, including being an Accredited Advisor in Insurance and a Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager from The Risk and Insurance Education Alliance. Peter has been featured in dozens of industry publications and has appeared at numerous state and national conferences, including CLDA, ACCA, Courier Weekend, RMDA, Home Delivery World, and many others.
Jason Burns is a native of New Orleans and a passionate business leader in the final mile transportation industry. He is a 2006 graduate of Vanderbilt University where he was a SEC Academic Honor Roll student-athlete in football and selected as the recipient of the Head Coach’s Dedication Award.
After beginning his professional career in the parking industry, Jason returned to his hometown to assume a leadership role in his family’s business enterprises, including Burns Management Group (BMG), Global Parking Systems (GPS), and QCS Logistics (formerly Quick Courier Services, Inc). As a second-generation owner and President of QCS, Mr. Burns led the company’s resurgence by developing new service offerings, implementing a new technology platform, and expanding operations into new markets. These initiatives resulted in record growth and QCS was selected to the Inc. 5000 list as one of America’s fastest growing companies for four consecutive years. QCS was also recognized as a Top 100 Icon of Industry by ICIC (Initiative for a Competitive Inner City) in 2014. In 2020, QCS was acquired by Dropoff Inc, a national same-day delivery company headquartered in Austin, Tx. with operations in over 25 states. In this new role, he served as Dropoff’s Director of Corporate Development, leading the company's M&A efforts. In 2022, Dropoff was ranked #2,607 on the annual Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. He recently transitioned into the commercial insurance industry joining CUI Agency, focusing on bringing transportation literacy to owners who are challenged with finding solutions to the increasing cost of insurance.
In 2022, Jason was elected as the first African-American President of the Customized Logistics and Delivery Association (CLDA), the nation's leading association for the final mile delivery industry since 1987. He now serves as the Immediate Past President. When he's not on the clock, you can find Jason spending time with his pride and joy; 10-year-old twins Jason Jr. (JJ) and Jordyn (JoJo). He coaches their flag football teams and is one of the loudest dads cheering from the sidelines.
Bryan Ice, has worked with the same-day delivery industry for the past 18 years, focused on insurance and risk management. He and his team have developed unique products and risk management tools that are designed specifically for a very tough niche industry. Bryan is the Director of Sales-Transportation for Risk Strategies.
Ryan Harvey is a part of McGriff’s National TransportationPractice and specializes in handling complex risk placements as well asinsurance strategy for clients in the Transportation & Logisticsindustries. He has been in transportation for over a decade and has specificexpertise developing risk control strategies for large commercial clients,helping to build fleet and equipment management solutions, safety reviews andalternative insurance solutions (captives, self-insurance and high retentionprograms).
Ryan is proficient in building programs for asset-lightlogistics & freight broking, final mile, specialty hauling, independentcontractor programs, truckload, less than-truckload, moving & storage, anddigital economy platforms.
He is active in the Indiana Motor Trucking Association,Tennessee Trucking Association and a member of both the Future Leaders inTrucking Council and the Safety & Maintenance Council. Ryan has served onthe board of the Indiana Transportation Club and is active in numerous industryorganizations including the Express Carriers Association (ECA), American AutoHaulers Association (AHHA), Customized Logistics & Delivery Association(CLDA) and National Home Delivery Association (NHDA).
Ryan attended Culver Military Academy and is a graduate ofIndiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Managementfrom the Kelley School of Business. He holds designations as a TransportationRisk Specialist from the Motor Carrier Insurance Education Foundation,Certified Authority on Workers Compensation from Olivet College and CommercialLines Coverage Specialist from the National Underwriter Company. He currentlyresides in Indianapolis, IN.
